I wanted to write today to confirm Southcare’s position on how we will continue to protect and connect you during lockdown.

As you know, Southcare continues to be vigilant in its management of COVID-19.

Following the advice on the current lock down, the next phase of our COVID-19 Response Plan has been activated which means:

  • Southcare in-home services will continue to be provided
  • Shopping services will be shop by list only
  • Social support services will be conducted within the home and within Department of Health guidelines
  • Transport will be to essential appointments only
  • All Home Care Workers have masks and will be using these when providing services
  • Southcarers are only visiting customers homes if they are 100% well and had no contact with the locations list (provided by Healthy WA) or anyone who displays COVID-19 symptoms
  • Southcarers continue to screen all customers before entering homes by asking a series of questions about their movements and general health
  • Any planned home visits by Home Care Coordinators will be rescheduled or conducted over the phone
  • Our office doors are closed to all visitors
  • A skeleton team will work from the office, with other staff working from home
  • Our office has had a full sanitise and clean
  • The Op Shop is closed and no donations accepted
  • Emergency Relief is closed
  • Financial Counselling is being delivered online or by phone only
  • Aboriginal Family Support is being delivered online or by phone only
  • No events will be held at Southcare premises
  • Safe physical distancing and infection control procedures remains in place
