Our popular scams workshop is back and bigger and better for 2024, and you are invited!

10am-midday Thursday 17 October
Southcare John Hardwick Centre, 19 Pether Road Manning
Morning tea included and free street parking

Hosted during “Get Online Week” this presentation is ideal for anyone aged over 50 who wants to be an online warrior in the fight against online scams.

  • Learn how to be a “scam-bassador” and outsmart hackers and scammers
  • Discover everyday and easy practices to stay safe online
  • Ask questions about any suspicious activity you have personally experienced

Renowned researcher and local expert, Dr David Cook from Edith Cowan University, who has 20+ years’ experience researching and educating our community on this important topic, will share his updated tips and tricks to staying safe online.

Feedback on his presentation last year was overwhelmingly positive and we are excited to welcome him back to share his updated knowledge and hope you can join us too!

Scammers are always getting more and more creative in their methods, and it is easy to fall prey to them, so this workshop is the perfect way to educate yourself and brush up on your online skills.

Tickets are free, and registrations are needed for catering purposes.

This event is brought to you by Southcare’s community connection program with support from Be Connected and Get Online Week.
